Never, Never Give Up

This past Saturday me and about 20 other girls from FGC woke up at 3:45 am, ready and motivated to raise awareness for breast cancer! For 5 hours we all volunteered out butts off helping Yoplait Yogurt and New Balance sponsor "The Race For The Cure". We had over 9,000 pink topped yogurt cups! For every pink top turned in, Yoplait will donate $.10 each.

After 9,000 given out- thats alot of money.

It was such an fun, yet moving experience. Every women there was just so happy to be alive, and free. It seemed like the happiest place on earth. I don't think I have ever been anywhere were everywhere you look, each person has a smile on their face, whether they're cancer-free or not. Husbands, Children, Grandparents- all there to support there well-loved wives or daughters. It was so amazing to see.

Although we all had minimal hours of sleep and had to wake up before the roosters, I sure am glad I went! It really changed my outlook on life and how we sometimes take it for granted.

Homecoming!

Just like most high schools, we have this thing called homecoming.

For one week straight everyone dresses up into funny things per day!

Friday is spirit day, and everyone-of course, goes all out.

Well on friday we have the homecoming parade. The whole school gets let out and brought down to Downtown Franklin where the parade is taking place.

All the sports teams and clubs make their own "float" or decorate their cars and participate in the parade.

Its so much fun!

During Homecoming Week, every grade make their own "float" according to the theme of the homecoming that year.

Our theme this year was:

(a spin off from monopoly)

Country Girl Can Get Down

On Tuesday at 5:00 in the afternoon after school, I am on my way home from the mall.

I get a text from Kate McNamara saying :

"Sugar! Do you want to go to the opening night of the Opry after the flood? It's called Country Comes Home! Its tonight and its a big lineup! Wanna go?!"

As you could imagine, i was a little frazzled. Imagine getting a text 2 hours prior to a concert starting! I of course wanted to go! The lineup was incredible. Brad Paisley, Blake Shelton, Deirks Bentley, Keith Urban, Martina McBride, Josh Turner and Jason Aldean, just to name a few.

So I rush home. Get the OK from my mom, and get all country-d up!

Of course, being 2 hours before the Re-opening of the Grand Ole Opry, tickets we sold out!

So kate and I, being our adventurous, and spontaneous selves, get in the car and rush to the venue, hoping to find a scalper.

Of course, we get there at 7:20 .

Not a soul in sight.

Kate then ripes out her handy dandy Droid Incredible, and jumps onto Craigslist.

WE FOUND SOMEONE!

some guy had bought over 40 tickets, and still had 6 available. We call him, and tell him that we were in the parking lot parking, and that we would take $40 for each. We hang up the phone, and we weigh our pro's and con's.

We keep on driving. And a worker, who we had asked earlier if he had saw any scalpers, pulled us over. He told us that this guy was walking around trying to sell tickets.

The guy walked up to our car and offered us two tickets $60 a piece.

Forget that.

The guy then realizes that he had just spoken to us on the phone.

It was the same guy we had spoken to about giving them to us $40 a piece.

So then he gives us the 2 *sketchy looking* tickets, and we give him $80 and carry-on.

This is what our face looked like walking up to the show!!!!

Is it just me, or does it feel like literally every one is getting married these days?

I remember when I was a Beehive, and they were the Laurels and Priest.

We all looked up to them.

They were all so fun and crazy all the time.

We all wanted to be like them.

THEN:

There was this so called "group" at church. Boys and girls were best friends.

literally- BEST friends.

Did everything together. Went to dances together. Did crazy things on the weekends together. Everything... they did together.

Rachel. Josh. Jenna. Danielle. Mitch.

NOW:

Now both guys are return missionaries. Mitch just recently got married last month!

Rachel is now married (as of 2 weeks ago)! Danielle is now a elementary school teacher.

But I'm not sure what Jenna and Josh are doing. Probably at school or something!

Hard to believe that could be me in just a few short years. I wanna get married! Now- where's the boy?
